We will be in Puerto Rico next week by this time. I can't wait to meet the kids we will be spending our days with and to help spread the gospel.
God has been weighing on my heart certain things the last few weeks especially since I started praying about this trip. We live in a society that is filled with so many things. I could give up all these material items and still be filled with happiness, joy, and contentment.
Rob and I have decided that we need to be more frugal. We might even try for a week living off of different variations of beans and rice/couscous when we get back from our trip (so if you have any good recipes send them our way). Of course, we will have some type of fruit and bread for breakfast. Our culture has so many options for food and we take our food for granted. It is really hard to comprehend how many people are starving in this world and if they do have food how many actually eat the same thing over and over.
I am reading a book called "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan and I highly recommend it already and I am only around page 20. It really is speaking to me about stress, worry, and living crazy for God. If we are feeling called to do something, we are to trust him. Life is not about living comfortable and being safe....life is about helping one another (loving your neighbor as yourself). And as our K-Love thought for the day says (that Rob just sent me a minute ago-talk about timing): "Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it."~ 1 Peter 3:15, NLT
Our home is not where we are living now or where we might be living in 5 yrs it is in eternity with our God and Savior...sometimes that is hard for me to fathom that amazing truth.
Ok the ramblings will stop for now,but friends I hope this finds you all well and that you live today rejoicing in God's glory and that you seek out his purpose for you.

We're trying to be more frugal too, if you have any tips please pass them on! Ha it's so hard!
It is so easy to get caught up in our society and live seeking the next material item. Very quickly we lose sight of all those that are hurting. Great post...thank you for sharing.
I LOVE that book!!! It's amazing! I was able to hear him speak back in April and he is such a passionate person. I will be praying for you on your trip and can't wait to hear details when you get back! :) Much Love!
