Staying Alive.....

Wow, these past couple of weeks have been crazy busy! It seems as if the holidays have flown by so fast and now both Rob and I are playing catch up at work.

We had very limited time off for Christmas and New Year's but we did not let that spoil any of the fun! We enjoyed time with both our families and hopefully next year we will be able to get some more time off around the holidays!

Looking at my calendar today, I am just amazed that it is already January 9, 2009! (Thought for the day: Thou wilt show me the path of life" Psalms 16:11 I'm glad you're here I never was very good with a map) We are going on 4 months of married life bliss.....it is like one big, neverending sleepover with your best friend.

There are so many things to look forward to already in 2009...here are just a few:

Finish reading The Shack ( must read) and going to a church book group for it!

Lake Junaluska Ski Trip with the youth group

Snowtubing 09 with Luke and Sarah

Annual Superbowl Party 2009

Cabin getaway weekend at Hanging Rock

We have been busy planning away and this is just for the next two months!

This year I am going to really focus more on the Lord's purpose for me. It is so easy to get caught up in what we want....but what about what God wants...are we listening to him? Rob and I feel as if he is calling us to go to Puerto Rico with the youth group in July...we are sure that this will be an unforgettable trip and i can't wait to tell you all about it.

So what are some of your exciting plans this new year? I would love to hear all about them!

As I remind myself, I also remind you:

"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21

I used to work at Lake Junaluska! Think of me fondly...especially if you hit the Kern Cafe or the Game Room! I used to manage the cafe for two summers and ski seasons!

Sounds like you have LOTS to look foward to. God is sometimes unthinkable and does not fit our mold...but that is ok! I know...I can't stand it either...hang in there and I look foward to reading your blog too!
